The Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE) has partnered with Global Health ImPAct (GHI) to expand leadership development and global service opportunities for healthcare professionals through the Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) and Doctor of Executive Leadership (DEL) programs.
The partnership connects advanced doctoral education with hands-on global health experiences, allowing physician associates and other healthcare professionals to strengthen their leadership skills while serving alongside international partners in communities around the world. As part of the collaboration, physician associates and PA students who have participated in a Global Health ImPAct service experience are eligible to receive a 10% tuition discount when enrolling in an eligible ACHE doctoral program.
“Some of the most meaningful opportunities in my career have come through partnerships,” said Travis Kaufman, DMSc, PA-C, program lead for ACHE’s Doctor of Executive Leadership program. “No single organization has all the answers to today’s healthcare challenges, but together we can combine education, service, and leadership to create a greater impact than any of us could achieve alone. This partnership provides our students with the opportunity not only to learn about leadership and global health, but to live it through service, collaboration, and real-world experiences that ultimately strengthen the communities we serve,” Dr. Kaufman said.
Global Health ImPAct is a nonprofit organization that provides healthcare professionals and students with opportunities to participate in international service experiences while working alongside local healthcare providers to improve access to care and promote sustainable change.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to preparing healthcare professionals who can lead with purpose while addressing healthcare challenges both locally and globally. Through ACHE’s doctoral programs, students develop expertise in leadership, healthcare innovation, education, administration, research, and systems improvement. Global Health ImPAct provides opportunities to apply those skills through service experiences that foster cultural humility, broaden perspectives, and strengthen leadership in diverse healthcare settings.
“Serving to me isn’t about what we can do for others or what we can do to others, but what we can do with others,” said Megan Hudson, PA-C, DMSc, founder of Global Health ImPAct. “True community change is a marathon, not a sprint. It requires leaders with a clear vision and great endurance to enact meaningful change.”
According to Dr. Hudson, the partnership is about amplifying the impact both organizations are already making through education, service, and leadership development.
“Healthcare needs more than clinicians. It needs leaders who can make an impact,” Hudson said. “Together, ACHE and Global Health ImPAct are creating a pathway for healthcare professionals who are committed to advancing their careers while making a lasting difference in the world.”
The partnership supports ACHE’s mission of preparing healthcare leaders equipped to serve diverse populations and address complex healthcare challenges while creating opportunities for students to expand their perspectives through meaningful service experiences both locally and abroad.
