To transform the quality of healthcare through interprofessional education, practice, and research.

Our Purpose

Our commitment is to create healthcare professionals ready for interprofessional collaborative practice and research. We are dedicated to improving healthcare by providing opportunities for collaborative learning, research, service, and leadership.

Our Goals

  • Provide experiences that promote interprofessional collaborative practice in the educational and clinical healthcare continuum.
  • Create an understanding and respect of the various roles of the interprofessional team, including the patient and their family.
  • Develop faculty interprofessional teaching, practice, and research skills.

Goal 1

The Arkansas Colleges of Health Education interprofessional education program will expand interprofessional education, practice, and research opportunities with a commitment to address the Quadruple Aim for healthcare to optimize health system performance by:

  • Creating a center for interprofessional education, practice, and research; and
  • Analyzing baseline information and data from stakeholders necessary to develop an evidence-informed program for ACHE; and
  • Securing resources necessary for interprofessional experiences; and
  • Developing and expanding interprofessional education, practice, and research opportunities with existing and additional stakeholders.

Goal 2

The Arkansas Colleges of Health Education interprofessional education program will develop processes to support and sustain evidence-informed interprofessional opportunities by:

  • Cultivating environments which foster interprofessional education, practice, and research with local, regional, national, and international partners.
  • Coordinating and communicating interprofessional experiences (educational, practice, research, service, and social programming); and
  • Creating continuing competency opportunities for stakeholders to acquire essential skills necessary for interprofessional education, practice, and research; and
  • Conducting ongoing program evaluation and dissemination of outcomes.

Goal 3

The Arkansas Colleges of Health Education interprofessional education program will achieve recognition or designation through IPEC as a Center for Interprofessional Education by: 

  • Formalizing a center of excellence for interprofessional education, practice, and research; and
  • Identifying a director of the program who will assign leadership and management roles and responsibilities necessary for effective and efficient functioning of the center; and
  • Positively representing the institution locally, nationally, and internationally through transparent dissemination of information on its status and achievements; and
  • Participating in local, national, and international interprofessional education, practice, and research outlets; and
  • Sponsoring scholarship activities.
