Shannon Jimenez, DO

Dr. Shannon Ramsey Jimenez currently serves as Dean of ARCOM. Previously she served as Chair of Clinical Medicine and Interim Dean at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before that she was Inaugural faculty and Regional Assistant Dean at Campbell University. A graduate of Des Moines University, she completed her training in Family Medicine in Michigan and spent 20 years practicing in rural North Carolina. She started her own practice from scratch growing it to over 5 providers with 10 K patients. Dr. Jimenez is a Health Policy Fellow and a Costin Scholar with a specialty in rural workforce issues and a passion for fostering leadership in medical education. She has served in many state leadership positions and on national committees for most of her career. She ran continuing medical education events for 15 years. She has lectured nationally on a wide range of topics, including Evidence behind Supplements, Food as Medicine, Microcredentialing, and Spirometry workshops. She has been teaching clinically for 13 years and has been actively involved in osteopathic medical education for over 10 years. Her current research interests include leadership in medical education and idiopathic atrial fibrillation.
