Kaitlin McNamara, DO

Dr. McNamara is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine with Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM). She facilitates learning clinical based medicine, procedures, and special skills techniques for the students of ARCOM. Dr. McNamara is Board Certified in Family Medicine (FM) and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). She has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Louisiana Tech University, a Master of Science degree from University of South Florida, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from William Carey University. While obtaining her BS degree, Dr. McNamara also conducted research in Tissue Engineering and helped contribute to the development of multilayered, biodegradable, anti-infective nanocoated bandages for wound healing. She was awarded the Outstanding Student Award for her research contribution and success in her field. Dr. McNamara completed her Family Medicine residency at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, North Carolina where the majority of her time was spent training as a hospitalist, which granted exposure to many specialties: OB/GYN, Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology, Radiology, and Cardiology. Dr. McNamara is married to Jim, who is also a physician, and they have four dogs: Jake, Raylan, Ava, and Sarek. Dr. McNamara's greatest joys are hiking, fishing, reading, video games, and painting. Since beginning her career here, she would also like to add "inspiring and educating the upcoming generations of physicians" as another one of her greatest joys.

Areas of Expertise/Interest

With exposure to many specialties/subspecialties throughout training as a Family Physician, Dr. McNamara has extensive knowledge to impart with special interests in OB/GYN, Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, and OMM. Dr. McNamara wishes to train students and residents to use their understanding of anatomy and physiology, and treat their patients holistically.
