FORT SMITH – Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE) announces its newest venture on the ACHE campus, the addition of Harps Food Stores. Harps will bring a convenient and diverse grocery shopping experience to the heart of the ACHE campus.
“The addition of a grocery store on campus is aimed at fostering a healthier community by providing students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding neighborhoods with easier access to a wide array of fresh and nutritious food options,” stated Les Smith, Chief Operating Officer for ACHE.
Harps Food Store is set to become a one-stop-shop for all grocery needs. With a focus on promoting wellness and healthy living, the store will offer an extensive selection of fresh produce, organic products, lean proteins, and a variety of dietary options catering to diverse preferences and dietary needs.

Since ACHE’s establishment in 2014, the Chaffee Crossing area has undergone a substantial period of growth, witnessing an extensive increase in both residential and business developments. Over 4,000 homes have been constructed since the announcement of ACHE’s presence in Chaffee Crossing, underscoring the area’s attractiveness for residents. The ACHE campus has grown from 200 acres to 542 acres. The ACHE campus boasts two educational buildings, 303 student apartment units, the Village at Heritage – a mixed-use center offering dining, retail, and services, as well as a beautiful eight-acre park. Presently, the ACHE campus hosts the Mercy Clinic and Mercy Rehabilitation hospital, contributing to the area’s healthcare infrastructure.
The momentum continues with exciting future developments planned for the ACHE campus. This includes the forthcoming presence of First Security Bank, a physical therapy clinic, and a daycare facility, along with additional student housing apartments. Arkansas Colleges of Health Education stands as a beacon of progress, driving economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for the community.
